Cris Serban is a proven leader, strategist, and innovator with over 25 years of achievements in engineering, procurement, and construction services in the energy industry, manufacturing, and capital projects development.
As a senior executive, Cris has provided the leadership, strategy, and execution that have turned around unprofitable situations, rescued troubled operations, and launched profitable new programs.
He is a C-level business leader, engineer, and accountant able to view the business through different lenses to uncover opportunities for growth and relationship building. Global perspective and international experience spans 15 countries on 4 continents.
Cris joined Supercom in his role of President & Chief Executive Officer in July 2019. His main focus is to ensure the participant, proximate and near proximate First Nation are benefiting from the development of East-West Tie Line project, while creating training and employment opportunities for the community members, and a dynamic and prosperous environment for the local businesses.
In his recent CEO position of two companies, PowerTel Utility Contractors, and PowerTraxx Vehicles, Cris led the first company to top-tier profitability, and augment the second company manufacturing capability, product range, and distribution network to unprecedented levels.
Cris led the start-up of MasTec Transmission Services Canada, from its inception until it reached the level of being one of the most important companies in the industry in Canada. He possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of publicly traded corporations, and in his position as Senior Vice President at MasTec, he interacted directly with the Wall Street stock analysts.
While leading the operations at Forbes Bros., Cris fueled the explosive 190% growth in 2 years that propelled the business to the largest privately held powerline construction company in Canada.
As a Program Director at SNC-Lavalin, Cris spearheaded the market penetration in the New England area and continued the success by leading a broad portfolio of projects in a multi-year Master Service Agreement with Iberdrola USA, with an aggregated value of $750 M+.
Cris has a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering and is a Professional Engineer PEng registered with APEGA. He is a Certified Management Accountant, and a Chartered Professional Accountant registered with CPA Alberta. Cris earned his MBA from the Simon Fraser University Segal Graduate School of Business and is a Harvard Business School Alumnus.
