Vice President, Corporate Development
William G. Christensen is an executive with over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He has been Vice President, Corporate Development with BHE Canada since it was formed in January 2016.
BHE Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE), which owns a diversified portfolio of primarily regulated businesses that generate, transmit, store, distribute and supply energy; BHE serves customers in the US, Great Britain and Canada. BHE Canada invests in Canada’s electric sector with a focus on renewable generation, transmission, and distribution. Other infrastructure investments are under consideration.
Mr. Christensen is responsible for BHE Canada’s corporate development activities. At BHE Canada, he has identified, led the evaluation of and acquired opportunities. Prior to Berkshire
Hathaway Energy acquiring AltaLink in late 2014, Mr. Christensen was with AltaLink’s Business
Development where he was responsible for investigating investment opportunities.
Prior to joining AltaLink (BHE Canada), Mr. Christensen was a Vice President with Pengrowth
Energy Corporation (market capitalization ~$3.5 billion). In this position, he had a broad set of
responsibilities that included development operations, oil and gas marketing, reserve evaluation and corporate strategic planning including capital allocation. Before joining Pengrowth, Mr. Christensen, was with Chevron and Unocal. Mr. Christensen has had broad international experience, in operations, evaluations, planning and asset transactions. Mr. Christensen began his career in California with Unocal Corporation in geothermal development.
Mr. Christensen holds a Masters in Business Administration from The Anderson School at UCLA
and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. He is also a
licensed Professional Engineer in California.
